Traditional Usui Reiki
Discover the Healing
Art of Reiki
A gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that promotes balance, clarity, and deep well-being — for body, mind, and spirit.
What Is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese energy healing practice developed in the early 1920s by Mikao Usui during a profound 21-day spiritual retreat on Mount Kurama.
The word carries its meaning within it: Rei — universal wisdom or higher power — and Ki — life force energy. Together, Reiki means "spiritually guided life force energy."
Every living being carries Ki. When this energy flows freely, we feel vibrant, balanced, and well. When it becomes blocked or depleted — through stress, trauma, illness, or emotional pain — we feel off. Reiki works by channeling healing energy to restore and rebalance that flow.
Today, Reiki is practiced in over 60 countries and offered in more than 800 hospitals across the United States as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical care.
Reiki is not a religion, belief system, or medical treatment. It is safe, gentle, and non-invasive — and works alongside whatever care you're already receiving.
How Reiki Works
Three movements. One profound shift.
Channel
The practitioner acts as a conduit for universal life force energy, using focused intention and gentle touch — or hovering hands — to guide energy toward the areas that need it most.
Balance
Energy flows to wherever the body is blocked, depleted, or out of alignment. The body's own intelligence draws in exactly what it needs — Reiki does not impose; it offers.
Restore
As energy rebalances, the body activates its natural healing response. Stress dissolves, clarity returns, and a deep peace emerges — one that often continues unfolding for days.
Reiki Addresses the Whole Person
Reiki supports physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Here are the areas where clients most commonly find relief and renewal.
Stress & Anxiety
Activates the parasympathetic nervous system to promote deep relaxation and calm a chronically stressed mind and body.
Sleep Disorders
Many clients report significantly improved sleep quality following sessions, as the nervous system relearns deep, restorative rest.
Chronic Pain
Works alongside medical care to support the body's natural pain response and ease the burden of long-term physical discomfort.
Emotional Healing
Creates a safe, gentle space to process grief, sadness, anger, or the numbness that can come from suppressed emotion.
Grief & Loss
Offers deep support for those navigating the weight of loss — of a loved one, a relationship, an identity, or a chapter of life.
Trauma & PTSD
Works gently with the nervous system without requiring verbal re-telling of trauma — making it accessible for many who find talk therapy difficult.
Cancer Support
Used in 800+ US hospitals to ease chemotherapy side effects — including nausea, fatigue, and anxiety — as a complement to medical treatment.
Mental Clarity
Clears mental fog, supports focus, and is popular among those navigating major life transitions or decision fatigue.
Immune & Vitality Support
A deeply relaxed body is a healing body. Reiki helps create the internal conditions for natural immune function and renewed energy.
Reiki is a complementary wellness practice — it does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical care. Always consult your healthcare provider for medical concerns.

What to Expect
Knowing what happens helps you arrive open and at ease. Select your session type below.
Prepare Your Space
Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed — your bed, a cozy chair, wherever feels right. Have a blanket nearby, a glass of water, and your device ready for Zoom.
We Connect & Set Intentions
We begin with a brief video call. I'll ask what's present for you — what you're hoping to release, heal, or cultivate. You don't need to share more than you're comfortable with. There is no wrong answer.
The Healing Begins
You'll close your eyes and rest comfortably while I work. Many clients turn off their camera and simply lie down. Energy knows no distance — the session is fully effective regardless of the miles between us.
What You May Experience
Warmth, tingling, a floating sensation, deep drowsiness, or emotional release — all are normal. Some feel subtle sensations; others feel a profound peace wash over them. Some feel very little in the moment but notice shifts in the hours that follow. Every experience is valid.
Integration & Aftercare
We reconnect briefly to share reflections. I'll offer personalized guidance: drink plenty of water, rest if you feel called to, journal if something came up. The healing often continues to unfold over the next 24–72 hours.
Arrive & Settle In
You're welcomed into a calm, peaceful space — soft lighting, gentle music, and a quiet atmosphere designed to begin the unwinding before the session even starts. First-time clients should arrive 10 minutes early.
Intake Conversation
We'll sit together briefly. I'll ask what's brought you in, any physical areas of concern, and your intention for the session. This is a safe, judgment-free space — share only what feels right to you.
You Remain Fully Clothed
You'll lie on a comfortable massage table, fully dressed. Remove only your shoes. A light blanket is available if you'd like warmth. There is no massage involved — only gentle, still touch or hands hovering just above the body.
The Treatment
I'll move through a series of hand positions from head to feet, pausing several minutes at each. Most clients drift into a deeply relaxed state — some fall completely asleep. That's not just okay; it's often a sign the body is receiving exactly what it needs.
Grounding & Aftercare
The session closes gently. You'll have time to return to the room at your own pace before slowly sitting up. We'll share what came up during the session and I'll offer personalized aftercare to carry the healing forward.
Level 1 — Shoden: The Foundation
A weekend workshop covering the history and principles of Reiki, hand positions for self-treatment and treating others, and your first attunement — the sacred process of opening your energy channels to Reiki. After Level 1, you can practice on yourself and your loved ones.
Level 2 — Okuden: Deepening the Practice
You'll learn three sacred Reiki symbols that amplify and direct energy, how to send healing across time and distance, and how to work more intentionally with mental and emotional patterns. Recommended at least 3 months after Level 1.
Master Level — Shinpiden: The Teacher's Path
For those called to share this art. You'll receive the Master symbol and attunement, learn to attune new students, and develop the foundation to teach and certify others. This is a deeply personal and transformative journey, taken at your own pace.
Your Certificate & Ongoing Support
Each completed level comes with a formal Reiki certificate. I remain available to answer questions as you integrate your practice — you are not left alone on this path. Many students return for refresher sessions or to progress to the next level.
About Jessica
[Jessica — add your opening line here. Something personal and warm. Example: "My path to Reiki began not in a classroom, but in a quiet moment of my own healing — when I finally stopped pushing and started listening."]
[Your story: when and why you discovered Reiki, who trained you, what drew you to this practice. Keep it real and personal. 2–3 paragraphs works beautifully.]
[Your philosophy and who you love working with. Example: "I believe every person already carries the capacity to heal. My role is simply to hold space — and to trust the process alongside you."]
What Clients Say
"I came in carrying years of anxiety and left feeling like I'd set down a weight I didn't realize I was holding. Four sessions in, and I can't imagine my life without this practice."
"I was skeptical about remote Reiki — how could it work over a screen? I'm a convert now. The session was deeply relaxing and I slept better that night than I had in months."
"Level 1 training changed how I care for myself completely. Jessica is a patient, warm, and beautifully knowledgeable teacher. I've since completed Level 2 and signed up for Master."
